Bacchus
Wine Tasting Events
About Us

Mark Guthrie is the founder of Bacchus Events.  No this isn't my job...I own a window and door company in Scottsdale...I guess this is more of my passion.  Why Bacchus?  He is the God of Wine and well....some other stuff, but we'll stick to the wine.

The idea of Bacchus is to bring people together in a fun, friendly environment in which to enjoy fine wines, learn a little about the wines, explore different Valley venues and make new friends.  Bacchus Events are open to singles and couples.

Bacchus people believe life is for the "drinking in"...not just wine...but life itself...friends, food, fun, unusual-out of the ordinary experiences.  If that resonates with you, here are some other places to visit that you might find interesting:

Scottsdale Culinary Festival (always mid-April, check out all the events, benefits all go to charity!)
I am the event chair for the Challenge to the Chefs.  The event is patterned after Iron Chef.  The 2008 event took place on Sunday of the festival.  The winner the second year in a row was Bryan Hulihee of Roaring Fork.  Congrats Bryan!  Check out the pictures.

League for the Arts Monthly Socials - This is the group that puts on the Scottsdale Culinary Festival, a finer group of people you won't meet. 3rd Thursday of every month.  Check out the schedule.

Rio Salada Rowing Club - I'm a water person.   If you can row it, sail it, or ski/wakeboard behind it...I'm there.  This is a co-op run by a terrific group of people.  Sculling or rowing, they'll get you on the water quickly...and if you don't know the difference, they'll teach you that too!

Arizona Animal Welfare League - dogs are mans best friend, not sure about cats but I'm sure they are great also.  This is the place to go to get one!
